Hi,
My name’s Dr. Brian Schwabe. Today, I want to share with you how I discovered an entirely new method of treating back & hip pain. This new method isn’t just about stretching… core exercises… or massages.
If your back & hip pain is very persistent, these methods often aren’t specific and targeted enough. This new method instead uses 3 “movement screens” to identify your exact muscle imbalance. Then, you use movements custom tailored to your problem to rebalance your muscles.
Let me explain. A few years ago, I injured my back in a devastating accident. I was lifting weights in the gym, when I felt a POP in my back.
Pain struck my lower back and doubled me over. I immediately sat down, terrified that I had just messed my back up forever.
Ironically, I was a sports resident at the time. It was the #1 ranked residency program in the country - the sports physical therapy residency at USC. So I thought I could fix the problem quickly.
Boy was I wrong… My back pain persisted and persisted. And no matter what treatment I tried, my back pain just wouldn’t go away.
It got worse and worse until it was affecting my social life… my job… and even my mood. I mean, I could barely stand for 15 minutes at a time without doubling over in pain!
It was at that point that I decided to use all the knowledge I had learned from my physical therapy program to come up with a new solution.
You see, I discovered that most stretches, core exercises, and massages for back pain are just too generalized. Everyone’s back pain is different. You may have a tight erector spinae muscle… someone else with back pain may instead have tight hip flexors.
Applying one set of stretches to fix every type of muscle imbalance just doesn’t make sense. You may get lucky, but most of the time you’re just not fixing the right muscle imbalance.
That’s why I created movement screens. These are movements you do that reveal what your particular muscle imbalance is. For example, one screen is a deep squat with your arms raised above your head.
If your trunk doesn’t stay upright, it may mean that your hips and lats are too tight. If your lower back is rounding, it means you’ll have to mobilize your hips and ankles.
After that, you’ll know the root cause of your lower back & hip pain, and you’ll do specific stretches to fix that imbalance.
When I used this method, I was finally able to get rid of my back pain. It’s so successful, I use it right now in my LA physical therapy office, and it’s fixed back & hip pain for countless men and women.
Today, I want to share it with you. There are 3 different movement screens I use that will help you fix your back & hip pain.
